The Dever Society's Annual General Meeting will be held at 7:30pm on Monday 1st March 2010 in the Northbrook Hall, Micheldever.

The Annual General Meeting will only be open to Dever Society members.

After the formal business, the BBC’s Deputy Political Editor James Landale will moderate a one off election debate entitled Planning and the countryside. This is scheduled to begin at 8pm, and will be open to the public.

The Winchester Parliamentary candidates from all three main political parties have accepted the Dever Society's invitation to come and present their vision for development and the countryside. James Landale will challenge them to explain their views, and will take questions from the floor.

Commenting on news that the Conservative, Labour and Liberal Democrat prospective Parliamentary candidates are to address the AGM, the Society’s Chairman Douglas Paterson said: “We’re especially pleased that the BBC’s Deputy Political Editor, James Landale, will be on hand to probe the candidates about their commitment to protect the constituency they intend to represent. This is a unique opportunity to see our prospective MPs alongside each other in a public debate about the countryside.”
